What motivated you to become an SLP?

My motivation to become an SLP began with my brother’s experiences—he received speech therapy as a child for articulation difficulties and later worked with a learning specialist to support his executive functioning skills. Seeing the positive impact of these services sparked my interest in communication development. I deepened this interest in college by working in a speech perception lab, where I explored the science behind how we understand and produce speech. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career where I can help others communicate with confidence and clarity.

What made you want to work at CHAT?

I’m inspired by CHAT’s mission to increase access to equitable, life-changing speech-language services and feel that our values strongly align.

What makes you excited about your work?

What excites me most about my work as a speech therapist is building meaningful connections with my clients and supporting them on their communication journey. I love seeing their confidence grow as they make progress and realize their own strengths!

What do you like to do in your free time?

Making pottery, caring for my plants, and exploring parks with my dog.
