Mindfulness-based interventions and techniques can increase attentional and emotional self-regulation skills, as well as promote cognitive flexibility. This presentation defines mindfulness and highlights key research on mindfulness-based practices for children and teens with diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, and Fluency Disorders. Tips and strategies for incorporating mindfulness activities into therapy sessions are also provided and discussed.
