I became an SLP because…

I was influenced by familial professions in both therapy and language.  As a child, I wanted to be a writer, singer, or teacher.  Being an SLP allows me to write, sing and teach!  It is a job I love waking up to every day.

One thing I love about working at CHAT is…

CHAT’s commitment to communication justice. I chose speech-language pathology because it is, by definition, a social justice-oriented field (at least, it should be).

The things I love about my job include…

Learning about sociolinguistic diversity and all the different ways that language can be used. I think language is beautiful! I also love being part of a child’s “aha” moments. Working with people and helping others brings me joy.
